Buditch 2012 report

Last weekend (19 and 20 May) BUDITCH MASTERWAVE 2012 took place in Madridejos (Spain). This was the second edition of the most surf oriented longboard event ever, hosted by Buddywood Custom Made and Ra, with the help of Caribbean and Toxic World.

Hundreds of riders met there, with the idea of surfing a perfect ditch. Early morning on Saturday, the riders had their first opportunity of experiencing the ditch walls, and the giant slingshot made of Banshee Bungee, a convenient way of getting shot into the wave, and reaching the peak very fast.

The first race was the Slash Slalom Comp, which forced the contestants to negotiate cones strategically placed along the ditch walls. The best timing was set by Axel Serrat, who got the prize of a new Buddywood Barakuda, with Monty Ponty as second and Ra third.

After getting one’s strength back with a good barbecue and a bit of dancing to surf music by “The Buditch Wheels”, the second race
started. This was the Expression Session, a freestyle race in which the contestants tried to amaze the jury with their abilities on the
board, style and flow. The first prize went to Daniel Sam, who got a brand new Buddywood Tokelau; the young and stylish Tasio go the second prize , with Agro being third.

That night there was some partying at the marquee, and camp for those too tired to party. Even after that, on Sunday everybody was still eager to ride along this fantastic ditch and enjoying this amazing event.

Thank you to everyone who came.
