This past week in France , the Lyon guys from  Politic Longboard Activist organized the latest edition of one of the famous freerides in France ! The registration was full after one hour in April and Pommy the organiser decided to rent a truck so 100 riders could attend.
Chuyer has become the most important freeride in France since the famous Chamrousse. The freeride starts with a party under the rain on the Friday night where we meet all the riders from different parts of France, like the guy from BHM Paris (Fernando , Baptiste and Arnaud), the guys from the Drome Team, from the brand DTC (Alex Ulrich) and from a new brand of Grenoble – Nikhell. The guys from La Familia Grenoble was here too and of course the locals from Lyon Longskate Crew.

The atmosphere was so cool and the riders were excited to ride all the week end! Sunday, rainy Sunday!
At the start of day, the weather was okay, but the road was wet. All the riders, took this on board and rode in security. The wet road give the occasion of long slide in the first hairpin, because we arrive at 60 km/h. We had good action in the curves in the forest, which finished with the best left corner a nice place to crash!
 After 5 dry runs in the morning some riders, rode the last run; “the apocalypse run” with rain and ice.

Our boards were stopped by the water on the hill, but it was fun. Few minutes after, the road had 5cm of ice, and the trucks find some difficulties to climb to the campground. All the riding stopped and we took a lunch break. Pommy announced that the ride was closer for the day, because the road was too dangerous. He works with his team directly after this incident to brush some parts of the road, in preparation for the ride of the next day.

During this time all the rider take the time to practice American football on the campground, slackline and chilling, to prepare for the party of night .

On Saturday, the weather was more cool, the road was totally dry, without a river in the first corner. All the riders gave their all to pass it in front or back or with disguises like the Familia did!
Saturday was a great day and all the rider left the freeride with a big smile, and I can’t wait to the other in August! Hope to see you there !
