Fusion of crews II report

In Vitoria we been thinking for some time about a small trip to Zaragoza. After the fusion of crews we did in November and the girls meet in March, we wanted to return there as soon as possible! Longboard Zaragoza (LBZ) crew are our longfamily and they always welcome us with open arms. Throw in nice summer weather and  the promise of La Muela and you have all the ingredients for a great weekend!

We left a rainy Siberia-Gasteiz early on Saturday and by noon we were there, in the sunny and windy La Muela. Nothing new to say about those hairpins, it is an awesome spot! We are not experienced downhill riders, but we like speed from time to time. After an epic session, we liked speed a little bit more haha. 9 hours of downhill with just a break for a sandwich, then going faster and faster as the day went on. I can say it was the best day of my skating life, ENGORILE! Few things can beat going down a hill surrounded by good friends; those that have done it know what I mean.

When the sun went down, we left La Muela and went to Zaragoza. After a shower and a big burguer we still wanted to skate. So we cruised for almost an hour and met LBZ crew downtown to drink some beers. Later at night we took a taxi back to the camp site.
Remember, if you drink, do not drive XD.

Sunday started well, swimming pool and back to La Muela. 2 more hours of downhill before the naval battle in the Expo. It had been more than 20 years since I shot a water pistol and damn, it was so much fun! The weather was hot and the water was necessary so we had the perfect excuse to shoot at each other. It was SO funny! We were all wet and laughing when the battle ended, so I’m sure there will be more battles like this, and I’ll be ready to shoot!

To complete the weekend, the last race of the slalom initiation circuit. A great LBZ initiative for people to know slalom and start enjoying it. Many participants and lots of fun!

The day was ending and we had to go back to our little, rainy Vitoria. So time for goodbye and the assurance that we will be back really soon. Lovely city, great spots and an absolutely wonderful crew, our family, is waiting for us.
Now that many many people are worried about posers, haters, hipsters and all that shit, I can only say one thing. Take your board and enjoy with your friends, LIFE IS LONGDERFUL!

Massive thanks to the talented Alejandro Usyk and Ruben Mad Land for the great photos.
