On the weekend of the 5th & 6th May, in a city called Espinho we had the 1st BIG Gravity Sports Festival ever in Portugal!
We at Skate Clube de Espinho, along with our City Hall; arranged an entertaining Gravity show for the locals and for all Portuguese riders who answered the call for the Event!

All sponsors and supporters were very important not only for the 800 euros of Prize Money; but also for helping us out with Logistics, Catering, Technical and Public facilities within the Contest area. We are stoked by the way they handled us!
Our Sponsors and Supporters were: Pro-Tec; Sector 9; Powa; Lush Longboards; Aipal; ORA; Rutilva, lda; DeckHeads Skate Shop; HB Surf Shop; Vidigal Wines; Praça Porto Bar; SurfJahClube; LX Longboarding; Espinho Surf School and LONGBOARDERZ (www.thelongboarderz.com).
To all of you guys who believed in us, we only have 3 words in addition to a HUGE thank you – YOU ARE AWESOME!

The idea of organizing the Festival came up from the apparent lack of visibility, promotion and media support of our Sport in Portugal. It brings us to the question: If they won’t do it, who will? The answer is – US, the gravity sports community!
So we did! We will soon release a full Report Video, with flash interviews, highlights,Gravity Sports Introduction, Public and Riders feedback interviews and all English subtitled. All made by our Longboarders Community for free, for all of you! Made by stoked human beings who are passionate about riding urethane wheels!

We had a Downhill Skate, Slide Jam, Drift-Trike and roller car Championship, and of course Freeriding! On a short but spine-chillingly fast hill, which you could get up to 80 k/h crossing the finish line. Those two days were unforgettable. All of those that were there, had a blast, developed friendships, experienced joy, and lots of riding!
Great Staff Team, I would like to thank Simão Soares and his family for the Portuguese beansssssssss, so tasty!!! yeah..again! “Simão e sua familia; muito obrigado, por tudo!”
We hope to see you guys here with us next time to share the stoke!
Cheers
Thanks to Suzie for making it happen!
