The Nitty Gritty

Layback is opening a new/old shop.
Layback and Hackbrett have been stoking the longboard scene in and around Freiburg for the last 10 Years. We  want it to keep going strong for at least another 1000 years. So while everyone (in terms of Longboarding) is going crazy, we’re taking a deeeeeep breath and returning to our core. Hackbrett and Layback have always been connected, so putting the shop and workshop back into one space makes a lot of sense.

We’re calling our project The Nitty-Gritty. The idea behind Layback’s “Nitty-Gritty” is just what the name actually says. We wanted a shop that carries all the gear you can imagine and has a crew that all have the heart and solid riding background. They can forward their knowledge and give you a perfect start. And as we are putting so much love into our wood why not hang out and get your stuff and see how and by whom your board is built? We think that’s pretty sweet. Plus we’ve just finished our “Hackbrett-Factory-Bowl” – this place is well worth a visit.

We’re so looking forward to heaps of BBQ’s, friends hanging out and sharing the SKATE.
Saturday the 30th of June will be Nitty Gritty opening Party, so come down south (or north) for a big party and a weekend of skating. Plus we’ve had a little film project goin with Adrian Schmitt and his buddies Dustin Waters and Jackie Boone that we’ll be showing there: Here’s the Making of it.

See you there!!!
