On Saint Patrick’s Day 2012, about 50 Longboarders gathered at the foot of the black forest in the sun blessed city of Freiburg. Ideal conditions to welcome a new longboard season.

The first item on the agenda was a cruise of about 12 kilometers. We started outside the city at Himmelreich the the Dreisam led us through several small towns back to Freiburg. Spring was in full swing, summer is on it’s way, flowers were blooming – it couldn’t get any better! The cruise took us to a nice road in Freiburg which only meant one thing – slide session! That’s what we all needed -
smooth concrete and low traffic at a right hander with a sweet drop – ideal for beginners and pros as well. Pack runs, standup slides, speed-checks you name it, we had it.
The Groms have been ripping heavily all winter long and showed off their new and well earned skills. The scene is growing strong in the south-easest corner of Germany, always worth a visit by the way!

After a lot of ‘thane lines, our little skate trip took us to the Hackbrett workshop for a Barbecue-Bowl-Party. Michel and Willi (The Boardbuilders) prepared the factory place so we could have a party, and we did. Salads, meat and beer (for everyone over 16) plus free advice in terms of bowl skating as the Hackbrett-Factory-Bowl is not the easiest to skate – but heaps of fun garanteed.
We want to thank all of you for making this day something very special. We are really looking forward to skating with all of you guys soon again.
